The company is in the business of assisting clients with programming, graphics, computer servicing and computer sales requests. We are also involved in bulk-printing of cellphone recharge vouchers for service providers. Four employees currently form part of the company’s staff.
Secret to success
I think the secret to career success is motivation and dedication. I would advise students to study something that they are good at and not just settle for any qualification
Aspirations
I see myself expanding my company from one branch to at least five other branches across South Africa and beyond.
- Lesego Mogale
-
Company name - Blueish-Pink
Diploma in Graphic & Web development 2009 graduateCollege Campus Experience
College Campus prepared me for my career path in a great way. I am currently incorporating all the skills I have acquired during my studies, from designing techniques, management and communication skills – all of which were part of my curriculum.
I believe the professionalism of College Campus lecturers and management team sets it apart from other institutions. I would recommend College Campus to prospective students because College Campus cares about who and what students become after obtaining their qualification. This only started making sense to me when I got to the ‘real world’.
Company Information
Blueish-pink is a company involved in design, print and branding services. At the moment the company does not have the capability to employ staff. Free-lancers are called-in to work on projects.
Secret to success
I don’t think that career success is a secret. I believe in the formula – a truck load of determination, a bucket full of hard work and a hand full of perseverance.
My motto is “pay now and play later”, I am still paying but I know playtime is near!I would advise prospective students to engage in self-introspection before venturing in anything. With today’s issues of unemployment and business hardships one needs to make sure that they make the correct choices and in time. I would say to students: ‘Find your passion and interests and let them lead you because whether employed or entrepreneur, you’ll find it better when you do what you love and love what you do.
If I had known then what I know now, I would…
… have taken my Web Application module more seriously.
In hindsight I realise that there is a growing business demand for web applications.
…have sat through all my classes and paid more attention to my lecturer.
While I was studying at College Campus, I did not understand how the Business Management module fit into my diploma. I am thankful to have taken the subject however; as it has equipped me with the basics of running my business that I now put to practice.
Aspirations
I’m currently looking at expanding my business to Swaziland. In five years time, I would like to open more branches, gaining international exposure and become a guru in the design industry. If I reach my dreams I will be willing to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs.

Company name - Tonik World
Diploma in Graphic and Web Development, 2009 graduateCollege Campus Experience
While lecturers at College Campus imparted in-depth knowledge, they also encouraged students to seek out their own information through research, which I think is what set it apart from other institutions.
College Campus prepared me for running my own business. I’ve gained useful information – from understanding how to compose a business plan, to building a brand identity for myself and my company. The Work-readiness Programme also helped me in learning how to be sensitive to all kinds of people, their beliefs and traditions.
Company Information
My company is a branding company that specialises in graphic design and web development. I currently only have one person as part of the company’s staff complement.
Secret to success
I would say that the secret to success is to understand what you’re passionate about and build your career in that field. I would advise prospective students to find out what their passion is before deciding on the career they would like to follow.
If I had known then what I know now, I would…
…have done it the same way.
Aspirations
I would like to develop an internet and hosting company that invests in OUT THE BOX ideas, especially my own.
- Ronald Magondo
-
Company name -Panoptic Travel
Diploma in Advertising Management, 2007 graduateCollege Campus Experience
My studies at College Campus helped me improve on my people skills and gave me an understanding of the general fundamentals of human behaviour which all became useful in running a business.
The intermit environment of the classes are what sets apart College Campus from other tertiary institutions. From there, my qualification from College Campus prepared me in becoming an entrepreneur in diverse ways. The lecturers at the time were all involved in different aspects of business and because we had time to speak to them, they helped me learn some invaluable lessons regarding business.
I would recommend College Campus to prospective students because of the additional education that is given to students that is beyond standard curriculum.
Company Information
I started with an advertising and marketing company that did exactly that. The experience intern moulded me as a business person and allowed me to try new things as people wanted to work with me. My business profile is as follows:
- I am a 100% shareholder in an advertising and marketing company
- I am a 100% shareholder in a logistics company
- I am a 100% shareholder in a mining and commodities company
- I am a 40% shareholder in a travel agency
- I am also a 50% shareholder in a software development company
I employ a total of 36 staff that includes support and contractors.
Secret to success
My secret to success is passion and the belief that anything is possible if you believe.
Advice I would give to prospective students is…
“Listen to what your heart tells you and then use your mind to make the best decision. It has worked for me over the years and still works now.”
If I had known then what I know now, I would…
…have listened to my heart more and used my mind even more. There are many things I thought were impossible but now I see them as a result someone else who believed they were possible.
Aspirations
I see myself increasing my investments and targeting new markets globally – starting with the rest of Africa.

Company name - Nimo Design
Diploma in Graphic Design and Web Development, 2008 graduate
Website - www.nimodesign.comCollege Campus Experience
The students and the fact that we had pretty small classes made College Campus a unique place to study. When I was a student we had a total of 10 students in my second year class and everyone had a chance to receive individual attention.
What really prepared me for my career path was the fact that I was not only taught design and the software-related subjects. I also had to take Business Management as a subject which was part of the total package. This really helped a lot in terms of learning how to manage a business and gave insight into what it all entails.
I would recommend College Campus to any student today, based on the fact that the manuals that are issued on campus are straight forward and understanding them is a breeze. Students also receive individual attention – if you ever need assistance the lecturers are always on hand to help you.
Company Information
Nimo Design specializes in design and branding, from simple website design to the complete branding package for any business. It is registered as a Close Corporation for the past five years but is now in the process of changing over to a Proprietary Limited company. Most of the organisation’s clients are small to medium businesses, but the plan is to try and land one of the leading retail groups.
Nimo Design currently has three permanent employees – two graphic designers and one marketer, all three are former students of College Campus. The company has a range of freelancers who specialize in programming, website development and print. The aim was to establish a relationship with as many individuals as possible to avoid limiting the company while still giving the freelancers the freedom to focus on their own work.
Secret to success
Determination and hard work is the secret, you have to be persistent and establish a good relationship with your clients.
I would advise students to start working on their portfolios as early as their first year so that when they do apply for an internship, they have work available to present. Students and or graduates can also put their work on sites like behance.net so that if a potential employer ever asks for their work they can send a quick link to them of the online portfolio and the prospective employer can view it straight away. Furthermore, learn the tricks of the trade, you cannot and shouldn’t design without research, see what is currently on the market and how you can enhance your work.
If I had known then what I know now, I would…
…look for a financial investor sooner and focused more on advertising.
Aspirations
The plan is to try tripling the permanent employee base, establishing a steady workflow while still enjoying what we do -‘changing the world with one design at a time.’
